What's this podcast about?

Simply put, it's a watch-through of the anime Gundam Wing, but I figured instead of liveblogging my thoughts or typing them all out as long essays, I'd try something a little fresher.

What the purpose?

Firstly just for fun, and secondly I'd like to get a grasp on how this whole podcasting malarky works, but the number one reason is just to ramble about Gundam Wing and invite you all to ramble back! Let's have some fun with this. :)

How often will this update?

As often as time/free hosting space allows. I have a somewhat unpredictable work schedule, but I'm currently 4 episodes ahead of myself and I'll try and keep up that buffer. Finding quiet recording spaces is something of an issue.

​

Why does the audio quality vary so much?

I'm a complete amateur relying on free software with one good microphone, editing this in snatches and wherever I can find. I'm honestly doing my best, haha, but I'm afraid it might always be a bit rough around the edges. I'm learning!

Who are you?

I'm Oda, aka Odamaki on AO3 and Lemontrash on Tumblr. Lemontrash is my gundam specific blog, and you may also have come across me as Travellemon which is my generic blog. 

​

What's your history with the show?

 I first watched GW back in the very early 2000's/late 1990s and then not again until 2006/2007. I recently found the fandom community on Tumblr and felt like I wanted to re-watch the show and rediscover all the bits I'd forgotten and come at it from a new perspective. So I'm definitely no expert! I'll be learning new things as I go along, and my opinions at the time of watching will be just that, opinions from that moment in time.

Are you fluent in Japanese?

I've studied Japanese for over a decade and I lived in Japan for a total of 4 and a half years in different places, but honestly, no, I'm not fluent. I've gotten a little rusty, but I feel like I know enough to pick out anything glaringly different to the English translation, and I feel like this is an aspect of the show that hasn't really been discussed much, so it's something new I can contribute to the fandom.
